JAMES ASHLEY WALKER was born
August 10, 1861 in Christian Co., MO, and died May 30, 1944 in Ava,
Douglas Co., Missouri
He married LUCINDA STILLINGS August
28, 1892 in Douglas Co., Missouri, daughter of ELISHA STILLINGS and
RHODA MOONEY. She was born June 09, 1870, and died May 13, 1949 in
Ava, Douglas Co.
Notes for JAMES ASHLEY WALKER:
When James was being born they could hear the guns from Springfield and
see the flashes of the guns during the night. Records show that
the Union army moved into Springfield led by General Nathaniel Lyon on
July 20, 1861 and on August 10th the Battle of Wilson's Creek was
fought. August 11th General Benjamin McMulloch and General Sterling
Price marched Confederate troops into Springfield.
